This is my last work done for m-box.de .
The goal was to create a "photorealistic" sun as we know it from EIT-sattelite images. It's fully animated to create a loopable athmo-dvd. So I used animated precedural textures for the main body, which consists of three main layers and some rather simple handanimated particle systems for the flares. Moreover there are a few athmo layers for the general flares around it.
My Co-worker Martin did a nice job comping it and had a hard fight to make it loopable.
